This is a free class but they are asking for upfront registration for a reserved spot. I'm sure this is mainly for planning on their end since they will be putting on quite a show, featuring whole-grain hamburger, hot dog and hoagie buns, plus homemade potato salad, southwestern pork ribs, homemade salsa and peanut butter-swirl brownies!

Silver Sisters at Sauce!

Despite the rain and gloomy day, Beth, Penni, Diane and Jamie braved the inclement weather come to our Silver Sister meeting. Amazing how easy it feels to connect as we share our life stories and get to know each other even better. Welcome to the first-timers!.

• Beth has recently moved from Phoenix to the East Valley and is loving the new life. She recently treated herself to a great haircut at Aveda and has expanded beyond basics and added pink to her wardrobe.
• First-timer Penni has a great plan to transition. She and her DH are traveling in their 5th wheeler May through October. She plans on cutting her hair short and just letting it grow. She should be done around the time she gets back to town. (We insisted on pictures!)
• Diane is right on top of the one year mark of no-color. Happy Days!
• First-timer Jamie has not colored her hair now for about 2 years. Although her hair isn't actually gray, she is loving being authentic and going au natural. She's got a beautiful head of natural highlights.

Original GGLG Arizona Silver Sisters

Here are Diane, Kathy, Beth and Connie, all GGLG Silver Sisters, meeting in Tucson November 09 for the second round of some grayt fun! We are very excited about expanding our group and lending support to more Sisters in the East Valley and Phoenix area by officially creating the East Valley Silver Sisters of Going Gray Looking Great!

Here's a short synopsis of our last meet:
The day was planned, meeting at the La Encantada Center with lunch at North and make-overs at Blue Murcury with Trish McEvoy make-up artists afterwards, but we initially spent time oohing and aahing over each other's hair, surveying our progress and envying once again the fully transitioned hair of Kathy and Beth. It was the consensus opinion that Connie and Diane had another six months to go. (That is unless either of us gets a little scissor happy!)

We had some time to relax in between lunch and our make-overs so we strolled down the way to Anthropology to evaluate and do some color draping for ourselves with the available fall clothing. We ended up gathering up some scarves and giving each other a thumbs up or down while draping them around our necks! The navy was a hit on all of us, but the blue/teal tweed-like textured scarf was a close second.

Before beginning our make-overs it was mentioned that we were very interested in colors and what would work best for our skin tones. Heidi, the make-up artist assured us that she would talk about that afterwards and chart our clothing color courses as well. The girls did a great overall job with the makeup and it was so fun to be pampered!

So, here we are at the end of our make-overs, at the mercy of an innocent passerby to take a picture!
